Leadership in Action:

• Awarded “Person of the Year” from the Texas Department of State Health Services for my excellence in managing special medical needs patients and providing medical care to over 1500 people during hurricane evacuations.

• I am a Registered School Safety and Security Consultant with the Texas School Safety Center [TxSSC] in all disciplines (Audit, Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs), School Behavioral Threat Assessment (SBTA), and the “Other Safety and Security Disciplines)

• When Ebola came to Texas, I was the clinical director that coordinated and ensured safe transports from Dallas to the CDC in Atlanta with no complications or related health issues to the staff, or the community.

• I served several years on the Governor’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Trauma Advisory Council (GETAC) Pediatric and Stroke Committees; while serving as a Stroke Committee member, I helped develop the Stroke System of Care in Texas.

• While with the US Army, I was awarded the title of First US Army Soldier of the Year and the Eighth US Army Leadership Award winner.
